What is Green Coffee Bean Extract?
Put simply, green coffee bean extract is the extract of, well, green coffee beans. A lot of people confuse green coffee beans as being a different form of coffee beans to darker ones, when in reality, green coffee beans are green because they are raw and have not yet been roasted and/or processed. Green coffee bean extracts have been used for medicinal purposes in some parts of the world for many decades, and it would appear as if we are finally realising just how beneficial these raw coffee beans can actually be. Green coffee beans are able to assist, not only with weight loss, but also with a whole host of other health and fitness-related issues as well.
How does it work?
The primary components responsible for making green coffee bean extracts so healthy and beneficial, are: caffeine, and an ingredient known as chlorogenic acid, which functions as a potent and powerful antioxidant in the human body. There are many other ingredients found in these extracts that provide health benefits, but the two we have just mentioned are two of the most influential. In terms of weight loss, to begin with, the caffeine found in the extract has been found to temporarily increase the metabolism, thus providing more energy and burning more calories in the process. This means that not only are you burning calories, but the more energy you have, the more active you will become, so you will be able to burn off even more. The chlorogenic acid naturally found in the extract can also help to reduce blood pressure by causing blood vessels to dilate slightly, so that more blood can pass through them and be carried around the body.
What are the main benefits of geren coffee bean extract supplements?
Some of the primary benefits associated with green coffee bean extract include:
Fat loss
These supplements are marketed and sold as being potent and powerful fat burning supplements, and this isn’t just marketing hype, they really work. Again, this is primarily down to the fact that it contains compounds that boost the metabolism, thus allowing us to burn more calories, even in a rested state. The more energy we have, the more productive our workouts will be as a result. On top of that, the increase in blood flow, and subsequently, the increase in oxygen and energy, also allows us to burn more calories.
Enhanced athletic performance
Another benefit is the fact that we are able to perform more efficiently on an athletic basis, because we have more energy and are transporting more oxygen and nutrients around the body.
More mental and physical energy
Caffeine is a potent stimulant that not only increases physical energy, it also increases psychological energy as well, helping us to better focus and concentrate before we exercise. The increases in energy allow for better athletic performance, better focus, more endurance and stamina, and it can help us to get into “the zone” as it were, before we train.

Green Coffee Bean Extract VS Green Tea Extract
Although similar in name, green tea extract and green coffee bean extract are very different to one another. They both have different and unique mechanisms of action. Green tea extract for example, contains caffeine, but also contains different antioxidants, which work in different ways in the body. Some people actually stack the two together.
What can it be stacked with?
For weight loss and management, many people stack green coffee bean extract with green tea extract, along with Vitamin C, zinc, and an omega 3 supplement for good measure.
