What is White Kidney Bean Extract?
White kidney bean extract is derived from white kidney beans (shock horror) and it functions in the body as a carbohydrate blocker, which is why it is considered so effective for when it comes to weight loss. It basically inhibits the breaking down and the digesting of starches within the body, which come in the form of carbohydrates. It is a very potent supplement that, although relatively new, has already been subjected to vast arrays of studies and research, which results largely proving to be very impressive indeed.
How does it work?
Basically, as the extract inhibits the digestion of starches from carbohydrates, these carbohydrates remain either undigested, or far fewer of them are digested and broken down. This means that they either leave the body when we excrete them, or, they are fed to colonic bacteria where they become a source of food for the healthy bacteria found in the colon and digestive tract. Because of this, calorie consumptions can be greatly reduced, because basically, when we do consume carbs, if we have white kidney bean extract present in our systems, it can block the digestion and absorption of these carbs, so they aren’t converted into glucose sugars with any excess being stored as body fat. Basically, it ensures that far fewer carbohydrates are absorbed by the body and converted eventually into body fat, mimicking the effects of being in a calorie restrictive diet.
What are the main benefits of White Kidney Bean Extract supplements?
Some of the primary benefits of this supplement include the following:
Obviously the primary benefit of this supplement is the fact that it can assist with weight loss. As mentioned, carbohydrates are naturally high in calories, they are easily converted into glucose sugars, with any leftover being stored as body fat, and they can also lead to surges in insulin secretion which can also result in fat gain. Basically, white kidney bean extract means that carbohydrates aren’t digested and broken down in this manner, so we store far, far, fewer and gain less body fat as a result.
Improved digestive health
Any remaining carbohydrates and starches that haven’t been excreted by the body, will actually be broken down and used as a food source for healthy bacteria living in the colon and the digestive tract. This ensures that the bacteria remain healthy and that they function correctly, which improves digestive health in a whole host of different ways.
Blood sugar regulation
Carbohydrates can have a very detrimental effect on our blood sugar levels, especially in the case of simple carbs as they are absorbed much quicker than complex carbs. This can lead to reduced insulin sensitivity, it can put the pancreas under increased pressure, and it can lead to high blood sugar levels which have not only been linked to obesity, but they can also lead to conditions such as type-2 diabetes. White kidney bean extract however, helps nullify the effects of carbohydrates, thus helping to regulate and reduce blood sugar levels.
Other benefits include:
- Weight loss
- Reduced blood sugar levels
- Healthy digestion
- Strong immune system
- Increased energy levels
- Healthy digestive tract
- Hormone regulation
- And more…
How and when should it be consumed?
Health Canada Recommended Dose (capsules): Adults: 1 - 2 Capsule(s) 3 time(s) per day. Take before meals.
White Kidney Bean Extract VS Green Coffee Bean Extract
Green coffee bean extract is often compared with white kidney bean extract, and whilst both are considered effective for assisting with weight loss, that is where the similarities end. Green coffee bean extract is derived from green coffee beans, which are basically raw, unroasted coffee beans. It is rich in Chlorogenic Acid which is thought to be the main driving force behind its weight loss benefits. The Chlorogenic Acid helps regulate triglyceride levels and cholesterol levels, helping to speed up fat metabolism. The extract is also packed full of caffeine, which, due to its stimulant qualities, also speeds up the metabolism, thus aiding in weight loss. White kidney bean extract however, assists with weight loss by blocking the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates.
