What is Spirulina?
Spirulina is one of the healthiest natural resources in the entire world, and it is actually one of the oldest living organisms in the entire world. Spirulina is a blue/green algae that thrives in highly alkaline stretches of fresh water. It is located in both tropical, and sub-tropical environments, and was consumed primarily as a food source several centuries ago. This algae is jam-packed full of natural goodness, including: vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, and minerals. In particular, it is rich in B vitamins, as well as Iron. Believe it or not, but spirulina, pound for pound, actually contains more protein than meats such as chicken and beef, as it contains a whopping 55 – 70% protein per serving. On top of that, it boasts an incredibly impressive amino acid profile, as it contains 8 essential amino acids, as well as 10 non-essential amino acids. Spirulina is dried in a hot air dryer.
How does it work?
In the body, spirulina works in a whole variety of different ways, because it is so rich in natural goodness. For example, as it contains amino acids and so much protein content per serving, it can actually help to initiate protein synthesis and assist with the growth and repair of new muscle tissue. As it is rich in antioxidants, it can strengthen and boost the immune system, whilst adding an additional level of protection against free-radicals and toxins that can damage the body and cause a wide range of health issues. It also contains compounds that have been found to suppress the appetite, making this a fantastic supplement for anybody looking to lose weight. As it suppresses the appetite, as you become less hungry, you consume less food, and subsequently, less calories. The B vitamins help provide energy, the other vitamins and minerals help boost immunity, and in general this supplement, or rather, this superfood supplement, boosts health and well-being in a whole variety of different ways.

Spirulina VS Chlorella
If Spirulina VS Chlorella was compared to a boxing match, it would be Tyson VS Ali of the algae world, as both of these forms of algae have their loyal fans, and both of which are considered to be amazing at what they do. Both of which are forms of blue/green algae, just as both are complete sources of protein. Chlorella however, despite the fact that it is a single cell algae, can grow and reproduce at a much quicker rate than spirulina, as it can become four-times as large in less than 24 hours! Both of which help to promote the growth and repair of healthy cells and tissues, although spirulina is higher in B vitamins than Chlorella, which gives it an edge when it comes to energy production.
What can it be stacked with?
Spirulina can be stacked with other healthy supplements to really provide the ultimate health stack each day, although commonly, it is stacked with Super Greens Powder, wheat grass powder, Multi-vitamin, EFAs, Vitamin C, and Zinc.
