What are the primary ingredients and why do they work?
You’ve seen us constantly going on about the powerful ingredients found in C-JOINT, but exactly what are they, and what makes them so special in terms of looking after your joints? Well, let’s take a look shall we? Below you will find a list of the active ingredients found in C-JOINT, along with a brief breakdown of what they can do for you, and how.
Turmeric
Up first we have turmeric. Turmeric is being hailed as the latest miracle supplement in terms of joint health, cognitive function, and pain relief, and it’s easy to see why. Turmeric contains powerful plant-based compounds known as curcuminoids, which have been found to provide a whole host of benefits for people suffering with joint pain and discomfort. For example, turmeric has been found to provide anti-inflammatory benefits for the joints, so it can alleviate any painful swelling on and around the joints. It does this by basically intercepting molecules in the cell nuclei which are responsible for inflammation. Whilst the process is complex, turmeric basically contains compounds which can block and prevent inflammation at a cellular level.
Glucosamine sulphate
Glucosamine sulphate is another supplement that is very popular in regards to joint health, and in actual fact, there are many people out there who will take a glucosamine supplement individually, and will still enjoy great results. If we combine it with other active ingredients however, including turmeric, the benefits become better than ever. This compound is actually naturally occurring in our own bodies, primarily in the fluid which surrounds our joints. The ingredient works very well because it helps to lubricate the joints and prevent them from becoming overly stiff and tense. It also helps the body to produce new ligaments, cartilage, and tendons on and surrounding the joints. Glucosamine increases cartilage production, plus it helps increase synovial fluid which surrounds the joints. Not only that, but it also helps to keep existing levels safe and stable.
Boswellia extract
Boswellia extract is one of the lesser-known ingredients on our list, but don’t let that put you off, because what we do know about it, is extremely impressive indeed. This herbal ingredient actually comes in 16 varieties, though it is the Indian Boswellia Seratta variety which we’ll be looking at today. This natural ingredient has been used for centuries to treat a variety of various illnesses and ailments, though it is its anti-inflammatory properties that make it so beneficial for dealing with pain and discomfort. Boswellia contains a compound known as Boswellic Acid, which prevents the body from forming what are known as leukotrienes. These are one of the leading causes of chronic inflammation in the human body, and subsequently they can lead to conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis, if they aren’t dealt with nice and early. On top of that, Boswellia extract also prevents the breakdown and loss of cartilage, which again, makes it very beneficial for people looking to take care of their joints.
Chondroitin sulphate
Chondroitin sulphate makes up a critical component of connective tissue in the body, primarily being found in bone and cartilage. Chondroitin sulphate is useful because it has been found to help improve range of motion in the joints, to reduce inflammation and pain, and to improve overall joint function in general. How is it able to do this? Well, in a number of ways actually. You see, chondroitin sulphate helps make collagen a great deal more absorbant, which basically makes it function more effectively as a shock absorber for your joints. It also protects cartilage in your joints by blocking enzymes which have been found to attack and destroy cartilage over time. The real benefits however, become apparent when it is combined with glucoamine. Glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate work in synergy together and basically act as catalysts for one another. When combined with glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate has been found to prevent the loss of joint cartilage all together, which is why C-JOINT combines these two ingredients together, so that you can enjoy the best of both worlds.
MSM
MSM, or Methylsulfonymethane, is a natural sulphur-containing compound which boosts the immune system, reduces inflammation, and helps the body to regenerate bodily tissues. There are many health benefits associated with MSM, but as we’re talking about the joints in general, we’ll stick with those for now. One of the main uses for MSM is that it is commonly used to treat joint pain and joint issues such as arthritis. The reason why it is so beneficial is that it too contains powerful, all-natural compounds which provide numerous anti-inflammatory properties to the body. It also helps to boost the production of collagen, whilst improving mobility in the process. This is all primarily down to sulphur, which must be present in cells in our body in order for them to secrete various fluids and by-products responsible for joint health and joint function.
HLA
HLA is a substance found naturally in the body that lubricates and provides anti-aging benefits. HLA is commonly found in many beauty treatments designed to improve your complexion, though it also provides benefits to the body on a cellular level as well, which are not visible to the naked eye. HLA is located in our bones, in connective tissue, in cartilage, in tendons, and various other structures located throughout the body. HLA is beneficial for the joints because it actually buffers the bones and helps strengthen them and provide protection against wear and tear in general. What’s more, it is located with the synovial membrane in our joints, and it therefore plays a key role in the production of synovial fluid. This fluid protects and lubricates the joints, so obviously the more you can produce, the better. The fluid functions like a shock absorber, whilst simultaneously helping to provide powerful nutrients to cartilage located in and around your joints. So, not only does HLA make you look younger, it can also make you feel younger as well.
Grape seed extract
Grape seed extract, not surprisingly, comes from natural grape seeds (stating the obvious, we know) which are packed full of nutrients. Grape seed extract is enriched full of powerful antioxidants, which have been found to provide numerous levels of protection against oxidative stress in the body. Oxidative stress brought on by oxidation, can lead to chronic inflammation, which, from a joint health perspective, is far from ideal. Inflammation in and around the joints can make it hard to move, it can cause a great deal of pain and discomfort, and it can seriously limit your range of motion. What’s more, it will not clear up by itself, so something will have to be done by you. By taking grape seed extract, the powerful antioxidants fight the compounds in the body responsible for causing oxidation in the first place, so no oxidation means no inflammation, which in turn means no pain.
Black pepper extract
If you thought that black pepper was just a wonderful seasoning you used to flavour your food, then think again. Black pepper extract, contains a powerful bioactive compound known as piperine. On its own, this molecule works reasonably well, but it is when you pair it up with other nutrients, that it really comes into its own. The reason why black pepper extract is often used is not primarily for its health benefits, but rather, because it can act as a catalysts for other supplements and nutrients, as it can exhibit enzymes in the body that can inhibit the effectiveness of certain supplements and medications. Black pepper extract makes pretty much any compound it is consumed with, a great deal more bio-available, which basically means that it allows your body to absorb more of it. In particular, black pepper extract and turmeric extract, appear to work very, very well together. You see, normally, the powerful compounds found in turmeric, including curcumin, are not absorbed very easily by the body, so many of them often go to waste if they are consumed by themselves. When you combine turmeric with black pepper extract however, curcumin absorption rates can increase by as much as a whopping 2000%! That’s quite a difference, so hopefully now you’ll never look at humble black peppercorns in the same way again.
