All natural grass-fed New Zealand whey protein concentrate
Whey protein is currently, and has been for many years now, the most popular sports supplement in the entire world, and one can easily find oneself overwhelmed when trying to find their ideal whey protein supplement. Contrary to what some people may tell you, not all whey proteins are created equally, and not all whey concentrates are created equally. All natural grass-fed New Zealand whey protein for example, despite being from concentrate, is considered to be far superior in virtually every way. Here’s a more detailed look.
What is all natural grass-fed New Zealand whey protein concentrate?
Whey protein is a natural derivative of dairy, usually cow’s milk. It is obtained when milk separates and begins to turn into cheese. The solid part of the milk, now known as the curds, contains primarily casein proteins, which are slow-release, whereas the liquid that is left behind is known as the whey, which, not surprisingly, is where the whey protein is obtained. So then, you may be wondering why whey protein is powdered when you buy it, instead of being a liquid. This is because the liquid whey is filtered, gently pasteurized, and processed, where various nutrients and ingredients are added, along with various processing and filtration methods, which provide the powered whey protein. All natural grass-fed New Zealand whey protein concentrate however, comes from grass-fed New Zealand cattle, which makes it far, far healthier and more beneficial. It is also contains no artificial flavours or sweeteners. The flavours that we use are completely natural and our all natural grass-fed whey is sweetened with Stevia, an all-natural sugar substitute that is extracted from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant and has up to 150 times the sweetness of sugar. Also, the steviosides in Stevia have a negligible effect on blood sugar levels thus making it a great sweetener for low carbohydrate diets.
How does it work?
All natural grass-fed New Zealand whey protein is, as the name implies, all natural, and is therefore much more beneficial. Whey protein is essential as it plays a crucial role, not only in the growth and repair of our muscle tissues, but also in the functioning of our cells as well. Considering we’re basically made up of billions of microscopic cells, this shows just how important protein is. The whey protein concentrate in this instance however, is best used as muscle-building supplement, and rightfully so. Once our muscles become damaged when we exercise, glycogen and protein stores are all used up, so the cells in the muscles basically have no fuel or energy, so they can’t begin repairing the muscles. The whey protein concentrate however, is a fast-absorbing protein so it quickly enters the bloodstream once consumed, where it is then carried around the body, and transported to the awaiting muscle cells. This protein not only supports the growth and repair of muscle tissue, it also promotes overall health and wellness in general.
What are the main benefits?
There are many reasons why All Natural New Zealand Whey Protein is considered a superior whey protein product, but the two biggest reasons are, first, because the New Zealand government mandates that all dairy products are to be free of chemical residue, hormones (rBST in particular which is illegal in New Zealand), and antibiotics. Secondly, our All Natural New Zealand Whey Protein comes from grass-fed cattle in which the cattle graze their natural environment which ensures you are consuming a product without impurities.
Some of the other primary benefits of this All Natural Grass-fed New Zealand Whey, include the following:
Muscle growth
As mentioned, protein is vital for the growth and repair of muscle tissue, so without it, we basically would not be able to build and/or repair our muscles when they become damaged and worn down.
Fast Absorbing
Because whey protein is a fast-absorbing protein, it is perfect for post-workout nutrition, when the muscles are desperate for protein, amino acids, and other nutrients that are essential for protein synthesis and post-workout nutrition. Whey protein quickly enters the bloodstream, so it can be carried around the body and transported to the cells and muscles that need it the most, in a very fast succession.
Better quality
One of the main benefits of all natural grass-fed New Zealand whey protein, is the fact that the protein is of a much better quality, because the cows that produce the milk, are much healthier. They graze on untreated grass and pastures out in the wild, rather than being fed chemically-treated grains. The cattle are also free from artificial hormone injections, making them healthier and more natural. Put simply, the healthier the cows, the healthier their milk, which means the healthier the protein.

How and when should it be used?
This whey protein should be used just like you would use any other whey protein supplement. For this reason, most people simply consume 2 – 3 shakes per day, as a way of helping them to meet their daily macro requirements. One of these servings should ideally be as soon after your workout as possible. The shakes should not be consumed with another whole food protein source, as that would defeat their purpose. As whey protein is fast-absorbing, it is also not suitable for use right before bed, as the body would quickly use the protein as you slept.
Health Canada Recommended Dose (powder): Adults: 1 Scoop(s) 1 time(s) per day. Mix product well in 1-2 cups of liquid (water, juice, etc.) immediately before consumption. Store in a cool, dry place.
Whey protein VS all natural grass-fed whey protein
As mentioned, this is still a whey concentrate, which means it is around 80 – 85% pure protein per serving. The main difference between whey protein and all natural grass-fed whey protein however, is the fact that the protein is of a much finer quality as it is free from harmful chemicals, preservatives and artificial flavours and sweeteners. It comes from healthy cows that graze on grass instead of chemically-treated grains, which in turn means that they produce a much tastier and much healthier protein supplement, once it has been derived from their milk, of course. And it is flavoured with natural flavouring and sweetened with Stevia, an all-natural, low-calorie sweetener.
What can you stack it with?
You can stack this whey protein with virtually any supplement you like, although for most people, as their post-workout shake is so important, that is where they will stack the protein with other supplements, in order to get the best from it. Dextrose powder for example, is ideal in a post-workout shake as the sugar will cause an insulin spike, which will help force more of the protein into the awaiting muscle cells. It also works well with L-Glutamine, Creatine, and BCAAs.
